PROCEDURE

The tooth is prepared by removing any decay. Tooth surface is lightly etched and then a coat of bonding liquid is applied and light cured. A plastic resin (dental composite) material is applied on the tooth, shaped and contoured and light-cured. Finally, the restoration is smoothened and polished to give it natural appearance.

Facts about Bonding:

  • Procedure may be completed in a single office visit
  • It enhances the appearance of a tooth significantly
  • Plastic resin (dental composite) being not as strong as natural tooth enamel, may stain over a period of time
  • Generally, lasts three to five years before need of repair
